There is a trend these days to live like a local when travelling thought Italy and stay within the comfortable confines of a home-away-from-home versus a traditional hotel. Peruzzi Residences offers the intimacy of small boutique stayover while not forgoing on the high-end details.

Summer 2019 saw the grand opening of Peruzzi Residences welcoming guests to their six suites in the heart of Florence. Set within the second floor of a historic medieval stone tower, the rooms in this palace overlooking Piazza dei Peruzzi have been lovingly upgraded to the highest standards sympathetic to the classic charm of the building yet updated with a luxurious contemporary interior styling.

Five suites and one fully equipped apartment are positioned walking distance to all the city′s main attractions, including the Uffizi Gallery and Duomo, within the bustling leather district of Santa Croce, its church home to the tombs of statesmen like Michelangelo and Galileo. Also filled with top eateries and shopping options, it′s an ideal central neighbourhood to stay in the Renaissance city. Peruzzi ′s owners consider their accommodation will be an oasis in a busy tourist city ideal to rest after a day spent shopping and visiting its museums and monuments.

Owned by the noble Malenchini family, whose country estate, Villa Medicea di Lilliano has come to be regarded as one the most stunning to visit in Tuscany positioned only 15 minutes south of the Tuscan capital, Peruzzi′s interior decor is by Pondal Malenchini, the Argentinian architect cousins of owner Diletta Malenchini. They have created sumptuous rooms fitted with handmade Caporali cast-iron beds, Chianti red walls, bold green palm leaf wallpaper, double showers and freestanding bathtubs, offset against antique parquet flooring and frescoed ceilings. Suites are named after Malenchini family members, including Sofia, Eduardo, and Vittoria.

A communal lounge lined with antique furniture and a long central table is used for breakfast service each morning. The room also plays host to private dinners, cooking classes and wine events with the Malenchini family producing Chianti reds for over a century. Piazza dei Peruzzi 4 peruzziresidences.com
